~ Rebecca Caudill website summary
The purpose of this blog is for Lincoln Jr. High students to post their opinions of this year's Rebecca Caudill nominees. This year's list has been a hot source for our school's silent reading this year, and we want every student's opinion on these books. As you read through this year's list, please share with your fellow classmates and peers what you thought of the text. Don't give away the plot, just let us know what was so great or not so hot about your read. Enjoy, and keep on reading!!!

When I think of Science Fiction, I typically think of Outer Space and expensive computer technology. "First Light" is a perfect example of a Science Fiction book that does NOT fit my typical criteria. "First Light" could easily be Realistic Fiction, but it deals with a colony of people, with unique abilities, who have hidden away in a glacier in Iceland. They are somehow connected to the protagonist, Peter, who lives in New York. The story is full of suspense as you try to figure out Peter's and Thea's connection. If you like suspense and interesting settings, give "First Light" a try!
i thought it was a very good book. I want to know if there was and more things like super speedy people or super smart guys. I wonder how they dug all of that ice out so fast the hunters might have gotten there about a day afterwards. If you like dogs or family drama you should read it. -Christian Larkin
